Deaf & Hard of Hearing

Counseling in Your Language!

Finding a therapist who understands Deaf culture and communicates in ASL can be difficult. Many Deaf people face challenges in counseling because of communication barriers, limited access to interpreters, and providers who may not understand Deaf culture or their experiences.

You deserve to be understood without having to rely on someone else to communicate your feelings.

Rachelle Hester is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), a certified interpreter, and a Clinical Mental Health Counselor Intern. She offers counseling directly in ASL, in your own language, without the need for an interpreter.

She works with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, life changes, relationship challenges, and LGBTQ+ concerns. Her goal is to provide a safe, welcoming space where you can be heard, understood, and supported.

Hard of Hearing

Living with hearing loss can bring challenges that others may not see or understand. Conversations can be exhausting. Social situations may feel uncomfortable, and it can be frustrating to miss parts of conversations or constantly ask others to repeat themselves. These experiences can affect relationships, confidence, and emotional well-being.

Rachelle Hester has worked with Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals for over 17 years. She understands the unique challenges that can come with hearing loss and the importance of feeling understood.

As a Clinical Mental Health Counselor Intern, Rachelle provides a welcoming space where you can talk openly about depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, life changes, and LGBTQ+ concerns. You deserve counseling that respects your experiences and meets your communication needs.
